The nesting box runs the full length of one side of the chicken house. This nesting box has a removable lid for getting inside to collect the eggs. The nesting box also has two separate compartments for your chickens, preventing squabbles. The nesting box also cleverly fits onto the chicken house with no fiddly clips and is extremely fox proof.
Pop hole.
The sliding pop-hole or chicken house door is usually built so this slides sideways although it can be supplied with a vertical pop-hole if essential. Supplied with wedge to keep sliding door closed and fox-proof.
Slide Out Floor
The hen house comes with slide out floor that fully removes. It's possible to slide out the chicken house floor to clean out whilst the chickens are still perches inside the chicken house. Marvelous for speedy hen house cleaning .
. Chunky mortised and tenoned framework.
The Chicken House is designed to look lovely as a free-standing unit. A very sturdily built chicken house, with no scrimping on material. The very chunky hen house legs and supporting mortise & tenoned framework really do enhance the hen house design.
Weather proof ventilation.
The Chicken House is ventilated very effectively via the eaves and the ridge via a lining. This lining means that you have effective air flow within the hen house whilst also keeping out any draughts. In warm periods the cavity should be left clear, in colder spells its possible to add insulating material inside this cavity, to retain heat within the chicken house. It's amazing how much body heat your chickens will give off inside a confined space. The cavity to our hen house enables you to retain as much of the body heat as possible. Other options for keeping your chickens warm during the winter months are the option of adding heating by the way of a heat lamp, the less energy your chickens lose keeping warm, the more eggs you should receive.
