SHL2.jpgA Chicken Coop Anti Dig Skirt is fitted to the coop in the picture. It consists of lengths of timber, enough to cover the perimeter of the coop with mesh stapled to it. This screws to the base of your coop framework & thus gives you the skirt effect. We make this in such a way that you can peg this down and move the coop around with the anti fox dig skirt attached to the chicken coop.

The weld-mesh used on our anti dig skirts is half x half inch square, we find this ideal for keeping foxes out of the coop and also smaller pests such as rodents.

Setting up an area of the garden specifically for your chicken coop is another option. If you don't intend to move your coop around , you could set aside an area of the garden for your coop and build a fox barrier on the ground to prevent him from digging into the chicken coop.  Laying flags on the ground or setting wooden sleepers into the ground for your coop to sit on will help to keep the fox out of your chicken coop thus preventing him from digging underneath the coop framework... Within this area to prevent the grass becoming soiled ,you could scatter bark chippings, natural bark is lovely to use, being a natural product although this will need to be replaced regularly when soiled! A modern alternative to bark is also available and becoming more popular in the chicken keeping community, a recylced rubber chipping, available in a multitude of colours.
